At present we are running a resource development pilot with the Ti Tree language team, building a web-based educational resource for sign language. The Ti Tree team are happy with the website idea, however it is apparent that a mix of different kinds of resources will provide more ways for people to engage with sign language material, for education, promotion and general enjoyment.
At Wilora, there is no internet available for community access. For this reason we are looking at different ways that people can access sign language material that is recorded through the project. Providing DVDs is one way, and Hilda Ngamperle also suggested putting films in the Alice Springs Town Library, as many people use the Community Stories database and watch DVDs there when they are in town.
